T. Eric Galloway leads the Lantern Organization as President, overseeing the major operations for the nonprofit that provides affordable housing to New York communities. T. Eric Galloway's organization has built more than 1,400 units while providing social services through subsidiary Lantern Community Services and for-profit managerial guidance through another subsidiary, Lantern Management Group.
Founded in 1997, T. Eric Galloway and Lantern Group's goal was to strengthen New York communities through planning, financing, and designing housing projects that are sustainable in design. Lantern Organization pays special attention to choosing contractors who complete their work in a timely manner and to date the group manages nine completed projects, three rehabilitation projects, and five projects in the building process. T. Eric Galloway's group has accrued more than $160 million in capital funds.
Some of the services that T. Eric Galloway's Lantern Community Services team provides include help in securing up-front rent and coordination of case management, group work, counseling, vocational training, and community health referrals. Lantern Community Services has garnered more than $40 million in awards under T. Eric Galloway's direction, from organizations including the State of New York and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Some of the organization's key populations include adults living with HIV or AIDS and mental illness or young adults who have aged out of foster care.
