I was born in Poland, studied electronics, telecommunication, acoustics ( Technical University, Wroclaw ) and pedagogy (through Warsaw University courses), taught science in Poland, Hungary and became Lecturer and Principal Tutor in Nigeria and Botswana.
In Botswana , I have lectured at Pre-Entry Science Course Department (Foundation Year). The aim of PESC was to upgrade selected, science streamed students to university standards.
The students required solid knowledge of modern metric system, mathematical manipulation of power-of-ten notation and then to take measurements of different quantities. There were many core Physics books but there was no book treating these issues in its entity. This fact pompted me to write a book on experimental science matters. In 1999, infamous Minerva, London, UK published the first editon of my book: "SI Units, Conversion and Measurement Skills",162pp. The 2007 edition, ISBN 0620340584 has 186pp and is being sold by MetricFun, George, South Africa. I tried to present SI/modern metric system in a student friendly manner. It contains many amusing facts, problems, anecdotes, puzzles and illustrations. The book is recommended for students and lecturers of post-16 science and engineering courses. Visit my website: http://www.wacek.co.za and read seven reviews: UNESCO, UK, South Africa, Botswana, United States, Hungary. Only I have a copyright to my book. However, the book has been sold illegally by many booksellers, including Amazon, often modified to 150pp. Read scanned documents in a folder "Scam".
After serious brain operation (calcified amoeba, the souvenir from Nigeria), I retired in Garden Route, South Africa.
My hobbies: bridge, tennis, nature.
I had honor to represent Botswana at World Bridge Championship, Geneva and Bridge Olympiad, Salsomaggiore.
