Profile
For more than two decades, Christopher McCleary has been at the helm of companies that create computer communications solutions, including cutting-edge software and internet applications. Christopher McCleary presently serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Radware, Ltd., a worldwide pioneer in the provision of software-based solutions for network systems that offer accessibility, functionality and security for crucial web applications. Before assuming his current position with Radware, Christopher McCleary served as a Venture Partner with Blue Chip Venture Company, a Cincinnati-based venture capital firm that manages a $600 million investment portfolio.
Before Blue Chip Venture Company, Mr. McCleary founded Evergreen Assurance, Inc., which developed subscription software for businesses that require highly reliable Microsoft Exchange and SQL environments. Through a subscription-based software model, Evergreen offered the most advanced disaster recovery solutions based on proprietary software, which used a unique graphic interface that received several industry awards.
Prior to founding Evergreen, Mr. McCleary founded USinternetworking, Inc. (USi), a company known throughout the technology world as the pioneer in the subscription-based business software model that replaced the old license-based model and transformed the software industry.
USi was the first company funded to deliver subscription-based software models. Less than 18 months after its initial capital round, USi had created a state-of-the-art worldwide application delivery network, landed over $75 million in customer commitments, received numerous technology awards, and finalized a successful $175 million IPO.
Less than two years after taking the helm of regional Internet service provider Digex, Mr. McCleary transformed the company into major, nationally-recognized supplier of Internet connectivity and complex web site management solutions for businesses and government agencies.
McCleary has served on the Board of Trustees of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, as Honorary Chair for the American Red Cross Heritage Drive, and he has received Community Service of the Year Award from the city of Annapolis, Maryland.
