Profile
Growing up in a traditional Chinese family in America, Fuyiu was introduced early on to Eastern and Western philosophies. She distinctly remembers the Chinese liniments and oils, as well as the brewing of herbal medicine her mother used, juxtaposed with Western remedies. Fuyiu believes that Oriental Medicine is not only a means of healing, but also a life’s philosophy.
Her approach to acupuncture is completely individualized from start to finish; she believes in truly individualizing each point that is used on each patient’s condition. In fact, Classical True Acupuncture is a point-by-point study of an individual's energetic imbalances, thus pre-set acupoint scripts and protocols are not used. Although trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Fuyiu quickly realized the need for a more thorough analysis of each person's health conditions and directed her attention to Classical True Acupuncture. With this style, the detailed pulse diagnosis allows her to use a minimal number of needles and treatments are used with maximum therapeutic benefits and longer lasting results.
Herbal prescriptions are also thoughtfully customized to address each patient’s unique set of imbalances. The Chinese herbs are dispensed in a manner where the patient receives a high quality, potent, natural (no preservatives or sulfites) medicinal remedy tailored just for one's specific health concerns.
Fuyiu is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Colorado, a NCCAOM Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) and received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin (AOMA). She also received additional training through the International TCM Training Program of Acupuncture, Moxibustion & Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Chengdu University of TCM in Chengdu, Sichuan, People’s Republic of China. Fuyiu completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Bryn Mawr College.
