Edward Conk first made his success in business while still an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). One day, it occurred to him that he could make a little money from selling calendars if he could get the sorority girls to select the right boys to pose for it first. Getting sorority girls to look at cute boys was not really a tough task, but Edward went on to organize a contest, have pictures taken of the winners, and printed out calendars. They sold like wildfire. Little did Edward Conk know that his simple idea would go on to mold him into one of the most influential young business people in the country. Edward Conk’s idea took flight and soon he was in need of some help to keep his burgeoning business running properly. He enlisted his sister Joellyn and his brother Chris for the job. Together the siblings began developing a selection of calendars with themes like kittens and puppies. Over time, however, the Conks began to develop an understanding of popular trends and fashion, which led them to focus on acquiring the top licenses in their market. In just a few short years, Day Dream had over 600 employees and developed into the largest calendar and poster publishing company in the world. The Day Dream portfolio included the likes of Disney, The National Basketball Association (NBA), The National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), Sports Illustrated, and Warner Brothers. Edward Conk went on to sell Day Dream after 14 great years of exhibiting solid growth. There was more in store for Edward Conk, however, as soon he was starting his next venture, Montecito Property Company (MPC). Today Edward Conk resides in California with his family where he runs MPC and its sister firm, Montecito Medical Investment Company (MMIC).
