The owner and sole artist at Southwest Ornaments, LLC, Mrs. Brenda Schodt designs and hand paints an assortment of original southwestern and winter-themed illustrations on a variety of surfaces, from glass ornaments to stone wall plaques, and sells the artwork to a variety of gift shops throughout the State of Arizona, in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the small business.
Mrs. Schodt spends her entire year preparing for the holiday season, painting scenes on a variety of giftable items. She also enjoys painting on furniture, canvas, furniture, walls, and stone. In the past, craftswoman Brenda Schodt has hand painted a wedding gift of a stone plaque depicting a church where the couple was joined in matrimony. A new Arizona company also engaged Mrs. Schodt to hand paint a large plaque stone for its lobby, and Brenda has also custom designed myriad glass ornaments for holiday parties, weddings, corporations, and even an elementary school.
Artist Brenda Schodt has designed over 75 unique portraits, the majority of which are Arizona themed, and her original artwork has been featured at several juried art shows. Schodt has already been selected to participate in the 2008 Tempe Festival of the Arts, Fountain Hills Festival of Arts and Crafts, and the 4th Ave Street Fair in Tucson, Arizona, where she will sell a large quantity of her prepared pieces.
Mrs. Schodt enjoys making treasured keepsakes, and takes pleasure in selling and giving them away as gifts. As a painter, Brenda Schodt has always valued helping others through her artwork, and she frequently donates sets of hand painted ornaments to charitable organizations to raise funds at silent auctions. Thus far, Brenda Schodt has contributed her artwork to fundraisers for The Emily Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Tempe Community Action Agency, Inc., Arizona Basset Hound Rescue Organization, San Marcos Elementary School, The Melonhead Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Breast Cancer Research.
