Dr. Jodie Castellani is a clinical psychologist living and practicing in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Castellani received her BA in psychology and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1990 and 1999 respectively. She has been in private practice since 2000. As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Castellani’s responsibilities include working with children, adolescents and adults in a private practice setting. In addition to her role as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Jodie Castellani also serves as a forensic psychologist for the Knoxville, TN area. As such, Dr. Castellani conducts clinical assessments of persons involved in legal cases to determine if those individuals are mentally competent to stand trial. She is often asked to determine if defendants qualify for an insanity defense, or if parents are fit to maintain or gain custody of their children. She is also qualified to conduct IQ tests, personality tests, achievement tests, pre-employment risk assessments, conservatorships, and fitness for duty evaluations. Dr. Jodie Castellani is a three year recipient of the APA’s Minority Clinical Training Fellowship, which is awarded to professionals who primarily work with minority populations such as ethnic minorities, children, in rural communities and in forensic and criminal justice venues. In addition to her work in the field of psychology, Dr. Castellani previously worked as an executive administrative assistant in the United States and Middle East for the oil, nuclear engineering, and insurance industries. Jodie Castellani is active with Mission of Hope, World Vision, the United Way, the Children’s Hospital-Knoxville,and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati. She is a member of the Tennessee Psychological Association, the Southeastern Association of Psychological Assessment Society and the National Register of Psychologists. In her free time she enjoys travel, horseback riding, cooking, theater, music, and learning more about her family’s genealogy.
