Jeanine Pirro is an accomplished public servant who is committed to justice and fairness. Jeanine Pirro has worked as a prosecutor and judge, and she is a victim’s advocate, author, legal analyst, and caring mother of two. Jeanine Pirro was the first woman elected to the County Court in Westchester County, as well as the first woman District Attorney of Westchester County. During her 12 years in the position of District Attorney, Pirro brought nationwide attention to her office as an aggressive leader in the fight against crime, as a crusader advocating for crime victims rights and as a protector of society’s most vulnerable. As a courtroom prosecutor, Pirro had a 100% conviction rate trying major violent felonies including spouse abuse and child abuse homicides. As an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, New York, Pirro headed up the domestic violence unit, one of the first in the nation, responding to the needs of women and children victimized by family members. Under Jeanine Pirro’s crusade, spousal abuse and crimes against children were moved out of family court and prosecuted in criminal court. Jeanine Pirro also helped raise awareness of domestic violence issues, encouraging women to come forward and report crimes of domestic abuse As District Attorney, Pirro ran a major office in a metropolitan area and made crime prevention a priority. Pirro instituted highly acclaimed innovative programs. Through such programs, Pirro helped educate parents about underage drinking and provided cell phones to battered women, so they could report emergencies and provided senior citizens with free peepholes installed as an additional security measure. Pirro has worked with My Sister’s Place, a women’s shelter, which assists women recovering from victimization and abuse. Pirro also set up one of the first Internet sting operations to help keep children safe online.
