Profile
Most doctors can probably be considered giving people, but Dr. Jolayemi Oladimeji is one doctor that has gone above and beyond standard medical care by volunteering his services. Oladimeji, a Nigeria-native who is now the medical doctor at Baltimore’s Community Dialysis Center, recognized a need and took action by starting the very first home dialysis care facility in Maryland. At Community Dialysis Center, Dr. Oladimeji is in charge of managing the staff and assuring quality care for their patients. Being in the health care industry, Dr. Oladimeji noticed another trend – a serious shortage of nurses, especially in the field of dialysis – and started a nursing school to inspire people to join the industry. Oladimeji has even volunteered in Rwanda, a small country in east Africa that was recovering from a recent war. Dr. Oladimeji donated medical equipment and supplies as well as medicine for the Rwandan people. Dr. Yemi Oladimeji also traveled to the war-stricken Sierra Leone to provide medicine, medical equipment, money, and mobility. Dr. Yemi spent six months volunteering in Rwanda, including helping the local orphans. Though Dr. Oladimeji has multiple businesses in the U.S., he continues to travel to his home country, and spends about three to four months per year there. In Nigeria, Dr. Yemi founded the Community Economic Development Group, a nonprofit organization that provides grants for entrepreneurs looking to start small businesses. Community Economic Development Group offers support as well as training. Jolayemi Oladimeji, who currently resides in Mitchellville, MD, studied at Stanford University and earned his master’s in public health. Oladimeji then attended Pacific Western University, where he received his degree in biomedical science in the year 2000. Jolayemi Oladimeji also studied at St. Luke School Of Medicine & Indiana State University College Of Medicine, Department of Micro Surgery. He is also a member of National Association of Managed Care Physicians. Dr. Oladimeji stays in touch with his fellow doctors by participating in professional organizations such as National Health Care, American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemistry and the American Nephrology Association.
