After graduating from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Richard H. Bergman took on his first professional position as a Group and Pension Representative with the Bankers Life Insurance Company. For two years, Richard Bergman held responsibility for territory sales in group insurance coverage and pension investment products.
In 1980, Richard H. Bergman joined International Business Machines, Inc. (IBM), where he currently serves as the Global MidMarket Sales Leader. Richard Bergman works from his office in Carmel, Indiana, and has held many IBM role assignments related to sales, marketing, and business operations. Richard Bergman focuses on strengthening IBM's business partner alliances and working relationships. Today, Richard Bergman participates on an IBM global headquarters team, which is responsible for driving midmarket global sales through IBM Business Partner channels.
Throughout his successful career with IBM, Richard Bergman received such honors as Leadership Awards, 100% Club Awards, and numerous other awards and promotions. Richard Bergman also recently attended the University of California Los Angeles Anderson School of Management Leadership Education for Executives program.
Outside of the office, Richard H. Bergman remains active in his community. As a member of the Carmel Dad's Club, Richard Bergman coached basketball, soccer, and football for 12 years and participated as a swim meet volunteer for 10 years. Richard Bergman also supports such nonprofit organizations as Goodwill Industries, the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and the Humane Society.
