Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Belgrade's School of Medicine, Dr. Borko Djordjevic wields an impressive portfolio of accomplishments and appointments in the medical industry. In addition to serving as a professor at the University of Belgrade, Dr. Borko Djordjevic presides as Director of the institution's Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Training Program and a contributing editor to its Journal of Medical Research. Dr. Borko Djordjevic is also the Director and Chairman of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Mediterranean Surgery Center in Igalo, Yugoslavia. Formerly appointed to former President Jimmy Carter's Carter Center of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Borko Djordjevic made significant contributions to humanitarian efforts by taking President Carter to Bosnia in December 1994. Prior to his participation in President Carter's peace efforts, Dr. Borko Djordjevic conducted his own charitable excursion to Yugoslavia, where he set up a clinic and performed surgery on children and war victims of the Croatia-Serbia war and Bosnian conflicts. In 2010, Dr. Borko Djordjevic was presented with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in recognition of his devotion to peace and philanthropy in Bosnia and Serbia. Prior to his return to Yugoslavia, Dr. Borko Djordjevic worked and studied in the United States. Dr. Borko Djordjevic's previous employment includes a position as the Medical Exam Commissioner of the State of California Board of Medical Quality Assurance. He was also Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Oil Securities, Incorporated, responsible for acquisition and supervision of domestic oil and gas units in North America. Dr. Borko Djordjevic received his medical training at several American institutions, including Ohio State University. Completing his residency at Ohio State University's affiliate hospital, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Dr. Borko Djordjevic was Chief Resident in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Surgery of the Hand and Genitalia, and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Borko Djordjevic studied general surgery at Mountainside Hospital in New Jersey and The Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania.
