Review #4426

I am getting married this summer and want a really nice new suit for the ceremony. I have bought my last couple of suits from Harry Rosen and have been happy with them and the service. I spent some time at Harry Rosen and did find a very nice Boss suit for about $1300. However, I really want something special. I have a particular grey color in mind, and, I would like a 3 piece suit.

I did quite a bit of research. I looked at an online tailor a friend used, but, didn't feel comfortable not being measured in person, as I really want the fit to be perfect. There is a guy that comes to the hotels in town and measures you and then has the suits made in Asia. He is very inexpensive, but, my friends who have gone there have all said their suits fell apart after less than a year. I spoke to Harry Rosen about having a suit made to order, it would be tailored, but, it would not be a bespoke suit made specifically for my body - and it would cost just as much. I did speak to another bespoke tailor in town, but, he is a bit younger and does not have the track record and reputation of Samsons. Finally, when I spoke to Steve Samson I found him to be very helpful, honest and informative. He explained the benefits of a bespoke suit, but, also encouraged me to do my research. When we met last week, he had all the fabric choices I could possible want (far more than any of the other places I visited). And, he was willing to work with me to create the best suit within my budget. I have made the decision to get my wedding suit made by Steve and I am pretty excited. I am going in next week to be measured. I will post another note when the process is all done and let you know how it goes.
