Lanes is a superb hardware store where the knowledge of the employees is the reason I go there first. They do not only know the products, they know my old house and my projects better than I do most of the time. The service I have received there for the past 15 years is the complete opposite of Lowes or Home Depot, where I chase or wait for a teenager that may know an aisle number at best. Is this level of personal service worth an extra 5 or 10 percent? You bet it is!
