Managing global strategic sourcing, corporate travel, meetings, and events management for Amgen, Inc., Farryn Melton is responsible for over $4 billion of indirect and project spending. Farryn Melton’s responsibilities include overseeing all spending related to research and development, manufacturing and cost of goods, sales and marketing, and corporate activity. Prior to joining the team at Amgen, Inc., Farryn Melton served as Vice President of Strategic Sourcing in the Americas for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Farryn Melton’s jurisdiction ranged from Canada and the United States to countries throughout Latin America. During her time with Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Farryn Melton implemented and expanded electronic procurement and sourcing systems for effective spending management. Farryn Melton pioneered a requisition-to-payment system that led to outsourcing and leveraged indirect spending through an electronic auction tool that she integrated. Farryn Melton’s first experience with the biopharmaceutical industry was as Senior Director of Global Sourcing for Pfizer Inc. Farryn Melton supervised global sourcing and supply chain practices for five business sectors, including consumer products, confectionery, animal care, and pharmaceuticals. Implementing better corporate strategies, Farryn Melton generated savings and augmented efficiency for Pfizer Inc. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Farryn Melton is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. She has completed executive programs in business strategy leadership and development. Farryn Melton also possesses professional certifications in negotiations and contract management and leadership and management.
